In Woodstock, Ont., 1974, Feb one
You became my second grandson.
Very frail, very small,
Was in an incubator for a while.
When you began to grow strong,
You joined the Herman throng.
Fair of face, eyes of brown,
The cutest baby boy in town.
At the age of four moved to BC,
Where your new life came to be
You started to school and church too
I am very proud of you.
A lot to learn, in this big earth
God has chosen you since birth.
To carry his message, far and near
And tell the ones you hold so dear
Robert! You’re going to go far in this life
Although filled with lots of strife
Heavenly Father will always be by your side
To care for you, and always be your guide.
You are very thoughtful and very loving too,
Taking me for walks, helping me through
So I won’t fall, take me by the hand,
One of the greatest grandsons in the land.
I love you Robert
